Refunds

Three ways to get your money back, and you only need one of them to apply. The third one is about Story Engine, which you can order before it is finished.

1. You changed your mind: five business days

If you bought Story Lab after seeing one of our adverts, or after we sent you a message, South African consumer law gives you five business days to cancel and get everything back. You do not have to give a reason. This is section 16 of the Consumer Protection Act and we cannot take it away from you.

2. It was not what you expected: fourteen days

Separately, and because we would rather you were happy: if the course is not what you thought it was, email us within fourteen days of buying and we will refund you in full.

Both of these apply even though the lessons are digital and even if your child has already watched them. We are not going to count how much you watched before we pay you back.

3. Story Engine is a pre-order

Story Engine, for ages 15 to 19, is still being made. When you pay for it today, two of its ten lessons are ready to watch and the other eight are a promise. We say so on the buy button, on the payment screen and in your receipt, because you are entitled to know exactly what you are paying for before you pay.

All ten Story Engine lessons will be ready by 30 November 2026. We email you each time one lands. You never pay again, and nothing expires.

So, three promises about that date:

If you bought both courses as the family bundle, Story Lab is finished and yours today, and the Story Engine half of it is covered by exactly the promises above. Ask for a refund while you are waiting and you get the whole R1,690 back, not a part of it.

If you bought the feedback tier

If you paid for written feedback and we have already read the story and sent our notes, that part of the work is done and we keep the difference between the two prices. The course part is still refundable on the rules above. If we have not sent the feedback yet, you get everything back.

How to ask

Email ferdiwg@ferdiwrites.com and say you want a refund. A person reads it. The money goes back the same way it came — to the card you paid with, or to the account you transferred from — within ten business days of us agreeing to the refund. Your bank may take a few days more to show it.

If we cannot deliver

If the lessons do not work and we cannot fix them, you get all your money back, whenever that happens. There is no time limit on that one.

Nothing here takes away your rights under the Consumer Protection Act or the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act. If the law gives you more than this page does, the law wins.

Who you are buying from

Acres of Diamonds Productions is a different company from Easy Does It Social Media (Pty) Ltd. If you have bought something from Easy Lead Engine or Easy Does It Social, that was a different seller with its own terms.
